"I've recently been painting many images based on the under world. Almost everything we possess is stems from the earth - even the creation of life from life. The heart under the earth represents love, because life can not exist without love and love is central to the earth's role as our caretaker and nurturer. 'Pulse' is the heart beat emanating from our earth - proof that we are living upon a living earth. Another focal point is the tree, which represents the outpouring of life from the earth. The sleepy eye feeds emotion to the earth and the life just erupted as a little tree. This represents the circle of life within the earth and all the living beings that dwell upon it."

Artist Bio Manami Yagashiro Lingerfelt was born in Japan and grew up in Tokyo, graduating from Tokyo Musashino Art College in 1985. Also she graduated School of Art and Design at Kennesaw States University, GA, U.S. 2015. She began her art career in Tokyo, Japan as a graphic designer and illustrator with major magazines and newspapers. However, she became increasingly displeased with her career and her life and decided to explore the world, dwelling briefly in places such as India, Nepal, Sweden and other parts of Asia and Europe from 1987-1997. She now calls Dallas, Georgia home and has produced many paintings inspired by the mystical aspects of the places she visited, the human condition itself, and of the natural world. She has been...
